Healthwatch Newcastle: Supporting thousands of people across Newcastle

Tell Us North CIC has been the legal entity and host organisation for Healthwatch Newcastle for over a decade.

Healthwatch Newcastle is the independent local champion for people using health and social care services in Newcastle. The organisation gathers feedback from residents about NHS and social care services, provides advice and information, and works to ensure that local service providers and decision-makers put people’s experiences and views at the centre of care.

Through surveys, community engagement, drop-in sessions, reports, and advocacy, Healthwatch Newcastle helps identify what is working well, highlights areas for improvement, and influences changes to local health and social care services.

During 2025-26, Healthwatch Newcastle supported 9,889 local people to access information and have their voices heard in decisions about health and social care services. 9,131 residents told the organisation about their experiences. In addition, 181 people got in touch directly seeking information and signposting:

During this period, 557 people took part in Healthwatch Newcastle’s research and engagement projects. Their experiences contributed to four published reports covering key areas of local health and care provision:

These reports provided valuable evidence to healthcare providers, commissioners, and decision-makers, helping to improve services and ensure local voices are at the heart of future developments.
